Simply fill the glove with the tonic water and freeze. Serve your punch under black light and the hand will glow! Or fill with tap water and freeze for a creepy hand in your punch without the glowing effect. Gummy worms help add a colorful touch of Halloween spookiness.

Our Best Tip for Making Halloween Punch

Here are our Test Kitchen's best tips for making this easy Halloween drink.

  • We suggest letting the tonic water go a little flat before filling the gloves so it freezes more solidly and melts more slowly.
  • Freeze for at least 6 hours so the hands keep their shape as they melt.
  • Serve the punch near a bowl filled with dry ice for an extra spooky scene.

Ingredients

  • 2 plastic or latex gloves

  • Gummy worms (optional)

  • 3 - 3 ½ cup tonic water** or tap water

  • 2 52-64 ounce containers fruit punch, chilled

  • 1 2 liter bottle lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled

  • Assorted fruit such as berries and citrus slices

  • melted strawberry preserves (optional)

  • Dry ice (optional)

Directions

  1. Prep Gloves

If the gloves have a powdery residue inside, turn them inside out and soak in warm water or wipe with soapy water and rinse. Allow gloves to dry.

  2. Fill and Freeze

If using gummy worms, tuck a worm in the fingers of each glove. Carefully divide tonic water between gloves. Add a few more gummy worms to each, if using. Tie ends with kitchen string or bag ties. Freeze flat on a plate or metal baking pan for at least 6 hours or until firm.

  3. Assemble Punch

In a large punch bowl, combine fruit punch, soda, and fruit. Carefully use a kitchen scissors to remove frozen hands from the gloves and float on top of the punch mixture. If desired, carefully drip the melted jam around the inside of the rim of the bowl for a bloody effect. Add additional gummy worms, if desired. Add dry ice to a bowl near the punch before serving for a more dramatic effect.
