Creamy lemonade is the summer drink we crave daily. It's the perfect combination of sweetness and tart lemon flavor. Here we'll show you how to make creamy lemonade, including our Test Kitchen's favorite tips for customizing each glass.

What Is Creamy Lemonade?

Similar to Brazilian lemonade in texture and flavor, creamy lemonade is made with lemon juice, water, and sweetened condensed milk. This gives the lemonade it's sweetness and creamy texture. The best part of this creamy lemonade recipe is how easy it is to customize. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add more condensed milk. If you like a tart flavor, go lighter on the condensed milk. We found it was easy to add a bit more condensed milk to each serving. Just stir it right into the glass!

How to Customize Creamy Lemonade

Use this lemonade recipe as a base and customize it with your favorite mix-in. Our recipe testers loved adding a fresh berries or sliced strawberries to the pitcher. For a fun garnish, top the pitcher with lemon slices and fresh mint. You can also add mango or pineapple to give the drink a tropical flair.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cold water

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (5 to 6 lemons)

  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, or to taste

  • Ice cubes

  • Lemon slices

Directions

  1. In a 1-1/2-quart pitcher stir together the water, lemon juice, and sweetened condensed milk. If desired, chill in the refrigerator. Serve in glasses over ice. Garnish with lemon slices.
